My administration working to turn Nigeria’s economy around for good: Tinubu

Tinubu stressed the need for consistent growth and public awareness of policy outcomes, with a focus on recording and assessing various sector efforts for transparency

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu emphasized that his administration is committed to thoroughly addressing the economy’s challenges and ensuring its positive impact on the well-being of all Nigerians.

He conveyed this commitment during a gathering with the board of trustees of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) professionals forum in Abuja, which was headed by former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda.

“This economy must recover for the good and greatest number of Nigerians, and we are seriously committed to seeing through a change for the better,” he said.

Mr. Tinubu highlighted the importance of consistently fostering growth and improving public awareness regarding policy results. He mentioned that all endeavors spanning various sectors will be recorded and subjected to regular assessments to verify performance and share with the public.

“So far, we have taken some baby steps and pushed some aggressive positions,” the President said.

The APC professionals also pledged their support for his reforms.

While thanking Mr Tinubu for his bold interventions on the economy, Mr Yuguda said more than two million people had been registered as professionals in different fields since 2018 and were ready to provide structures for mobilisation and sensitidation of Nigerians on government policies.

“Foreign capital is a coward that does not move into unsafe areas, so with your successful interventions so far, we look forward to better security that will attract investors,” Mr Yuguda said.
