The incident occurred between 9:30 pm and 10 pm on Monday in the Hayi community of Maru Local Government Area

In Zamfara State, northwest Nigeria, a businessman widely recognized as Haji Isiya was kidnapped by four armed bandits who used veils worn by Muslim women (jijab) as a disguise.

PRNigeria reported that the incident unfolded between 9:30 pm and 10 pm on Monday within Hayi community situated in the Maru Local Government Area of the state.

As per a source, the attackers arrived at the scene on approximately three motorcycles, underlining the audacity of the assault.

“After invading Haji Isiya’s residence, they thereafter abducted him before any intervention could come from the security personnel.

“The armed bandits, who were dressed in hijab, left immediately with Isiya, and were reported to have been seen at Karakkai axis. Only God knows where they eventually took him to.

“But security agencies have already launched an investigation into the incident. They will surely facilitate his rescue,” he said.

PRNigeria reports that recently a Divisional Police Officer, in Maru town, DP Kazeem Raheem was killed when he attempted to repel an attack by bandits.

Raheem who was killed in gunfight alongside a police sergeant and a vigilante, had mobilised security personnel to foil an attempt to kidnap a businessman in the area.
