  • Abubakar stresses the importance of dedication, professionalism, and diligence in approaching NAF projects
  • The message is conveyed during a one-day Workshop on Site and Project Management for Project Officers in Abuja
  • Officers are urged to deliver high-quality infrastructure within allocated budgets and specified timeframes

Air Marshall Hassan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, has emphasized the importance of efficient management of all NAF’s sites and projects by project officers, in order to prevent inefficiency and project failures.

Abubakar cautioned that unsuccessful construction endeavors could adversely impact the service, leading to the squandering of valuable resources and compromising operational readiness.

Speaking at a one-day Workshop on Site and Project Management for Project Officers held in Abuja, Abubakar underscored the potential consequences of project failures.

He conveyed his message through Chief of Communication and Information System, Air Vice Marshall Ibikunkle Daramola, highlighting the need for officers to approach each NAF project with unwavering dedication, professionalism, and diligence. Abubakar urged them to ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure within established budgets and timelines.

Abubakar said, “Our commitment to enhancing our operational capabilities through infrastructure development is crucial, and your role in managing these projects is pivotal to our success. As you know, a pressing concern is the issue of failing construction projects and the imperative to ensure we receive value for money from all our endeavors.

“We must approach every project with the utmost dedication, professionalism, and diligence, ensuring that we deliver quality infrastructure within budget and on time. Failing construction projects can have far-reaching consequences, not only in terms of wasted resources but also in terms of compromised operational readiness and the public’s perception of our Service.

“As project officers, you are the driving force behind these initiatives, and your expertise and leadership play a pivotal role in determining their success. Remember, each successful project contributes to the overall readiness and capabilities of the Nigerian Air Force. ”

Earlier, NAF’s Project Implementation Coordinator, Air Vice Marshall Babatunde Philips, said the ability to manage projects efficiently and effectively was of paramount importance in a dynamic and ever-evolving environment with limited resources.

He said the workshop would offer ample opportunity to brainstorm and interact on the state of affairs of Nigerian Air Force projects and review their conduct while also planning procedures and standardization in the execution of their projects.
