Bandits wreaking havoc in Nigeria’s middle belt region have attacked a police station in Taraba state.
According to the Taraba Police Command, the station attacked is in Lau Local Government Council of the state.
The state command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abdullahi Usman, said the attack occurred at around 2am on Saturday.
He said the bandits stormed the community in their numbers in search of a particular person and decided to attack the station when they could not get their target.
Though no casualty was recorded, Usman said the bandits succeeded in disturbing the peace of the community.
Some locals said the bandits, on arriving the community, shot sporadically in the air.
