In the state’s Tom Jones neighbourhood, members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Police Command in Lagos State have detained three alleged vandals and retrieved a minibus, two carts, and bridge railings.

The arrest was verified in a statement released on Tuesday in Lagos by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.

He claimed that on Saturday at 2:45 pm, while conducting a normal patrol of the area, RRS agents detained the suspects.

“The suspects fled and abandoned a Suzuki minibus popularly called ‘Korope’ with registration number BDG 315 YA upon sighting the police.

“Also left behind by the suspected vandals were two carts, bars of aluminium railings suspected to have been cut from the Third Mainland Bridge, a hammer and a hand saw,” he said.

According to the image maker, the arrests come on the heels of other recent and similar ones made by the CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi-led RRS operatives.

He said that the suspects had been charged to court.
