Miyetti Allah claims unjust incarceration of herders across the country

National President Alhaji Abdullahi Bodejo raises the concern during the group's Annual General Meeting in Nasarawa State

The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a socio-cultural group representing the Fulani community, has alleged that numerous of its members have been apprehended and are currently detained in correctional facilities across the nation without valid reasons.

Alhaji Abdullahi Bodejo, the National President of the association, brought this issue to light during the organization’s Annual General Meeting held in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Monday.

Bodejo pointed out that cattle herders often face unjust treatment solely because of their Fulani identity.

In response, the association has established a legal team comprising 55 members to address this situation and work toward the release of its detained members.

Bodejo called upon the federal government to take swift action in order to secure the release of its members who have been unjustly arrested throughout the country.

“Many of our kinsmen are in correctional facilities nationwide for unjust reasons. They are constantly arrested and sent to jail simply because they are pastoring around grazing areas.

“Others were arrested just because they are Fulani people.

“The situation has been very worrisome; that is why we decided to constitute the 55-man legal team to help us fight the cause of our people, especially the innocent ones, to get justice,” he said.
