In Ogun state, One OpeOluwa Agoro, a female tenant, has allegedly bitten off the right ear of her neighbour, Oloruntofunmi Folorunso.
The incident happened on Oremeta Street in the Igode area of the south west State on Sunday.
The incident happened after an altercation ensued between the two tenants over an electricity bill.
It’s gathered that the electricity distribution company servicing the area disconnected power to the house where both tenants live over a pending issue.
To ensure that the issue was resolved and power restored, residents were said to have charged 39-year-old Folorunso with the task of collecting N500 from each tenant in the house for reconnection.
An eyewitness who spoke in confidence said other tenants paid the levy except Agoro who was said to have axe to grind with Folorunso.
In the process of collecting the levy, an argument was said to have ensued between the two of them.
The eyewitness further said an argument between the two tenants ensued and that Agoro hurled invectives at Folorunso.
Before other tenants could intervene, Agoro was said to have held onto Folorunso’s cloth, dragged him closer and bit off his right ear with her teeth.
While the victim was said to have been rushed to the hospital for medical care, the suspect was said to have been arrested by policemen attached to the Igode Division led by their Divisional Police Officer, SP Aremu Felicia.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident.
He said the suspect had been arrested and that the investigation was ongoing.
“The suspect has been arrested. The victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The investigation into the matter is ongoing,” Punch quoted Odutola as saying.
