A group of artisans and craftsmen have been advised by the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command to provide the Corps with reliable information regarding the activities of vandals in the state.
On August 30, 2023, at the State Command Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara State, Commandant Sani Mustapha addressed the Artisan and Craftsmen Empowerment Association.
The head of the state’s NSCDC asserted that the organisation is crucial for youth empowerment and helpful in involving young people in worthwhile endeavours in the state, which lowers the rate of youth involvement in crimes.
He therefore charged the group to be good ambassadors of the society by reporting any suspected criminal activities by any unscrupulous element in society to relevant authorities.
Mustapha assured the group of the readiness of the Corps to support the trade union in all legitimate endeavors.
In another development, the Trade Union Chairman, Mr Tukur Rabiu Abdullahi, who spoke through the Publicity Secretary, extolled the Corps in Zamfara State Command, saying that the union, having recognized the oversight functions of the Corps which includes monitoring of Trade Unions, has decided to come and felicitate with the State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command, Commandant Sani Mustapha.
The union, however, sought the support of the Corps in their lawful activities.
He also pledged to ensure all members of the Union are law-abiding and to provide any security information at their disposal to the Corps to help in curbing the rising wave of insecurity in the state.
