The notice of termination of engagement was contained in a statement dated Thursday, August 31st.
The statement said that the disengagement was necessary to “weed out ghost workers and streamline the state public service”.
It added that the affected workers would be paid their terminal benefits in accordance with the State Civil Service rules.
Since his assumption of office in may, Otti has taken raft of measures and decisions to reposition the state civil service and also address its infrastructural deficit.
The governor had earlier in July sacked 7,000 workers of the State Civil Service.
