- Adedayo was summoned by the DSS following the allegations against the governor
- He confirmed to newsmen earlier on Friday that he was at the office of the security agency in Oke-Mosan
The embattled Chairman of Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Wale Adedayo, is currently in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS), in Abeokuta.
Recall that the chairman had accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of diverting funds meant for local government and that the third tier of governments in the state have not received their legal allocation in two years.
The governor had since denied the allegation, noting that his government has always handed over to local government chairmen what is rightfully theirs.
However, Adedayo was summoned by the DSS following the allegations against the governor.
He confirmed to newsmen earlier on Friday that he was at the office of the security agency in Oke-Mosan.
One of his aides, who pleaded not to be named due to security reasons, told journalists that his principal was still with the DSS as at 9pm.
According to him, he had accompanied Adedayo to the entrance of the DSS office, during the day, but he was yet to be released as of 9pm.
Our correspondent could not immediately confirm why the suspended chairman is yet to be released by the DSS.
