PEPT: Tinubu, Atiku, Obi Absent As Tribunal Delivers Judgment

President Tinubu has traveled to New Delhi, India to attend the G20 summit


Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, and Peter Obi, a presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), who is Atiku’s main rival in the 2023 election, are not present at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, where a decision on their petitions is to be made.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and other key members of the ruling party are there, along with Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, is the only significant PDP politician who is now in court.

However, the Labour Party was represented by Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the party.

At the time of this report, the Tribunal members led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani have arrived to deliver judgment on the three petitions

Justice Tsammani has ordered that judgment in the petition of Peter Obi and the Labour Party be first delivered.
