- The Minister publicly criticized FCDA officials after the incident, stating that such incidents should never occur again
- The FCT Minister addressed a public gathering about rehabilitating existing roads in Nigeria’s capital
Nyesom Wike, the minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), expressed his annoyance and dissatisfaction over a technical issue involving a microphone on Monday during an official occasion.
At a crucial point in his address, the incident occurred, prompting him to express doubt about the FCDA’s capability to handle more complicated issues within the FCT.
The incident took place at a public event where the FCT Minister gave a speech at the flag-off ceremony on repairing existing roads in the capital of Nigeria.
The proceedings were cut short as he started speaking due to an unanticipated malfunction of the microphone.
Frustrated by the technical glitch, Wike openly questioned the FCDA’s competence, stating, “If you can’t arrange ordinary microphone to work, how will the FCT work?”
It remains to be seen how the FCDA will address the FCT minister’s concerns and prevent similar issues from affecting essential events in the future.
