- ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the police officers had been identified and have been directed to report to the Force Headquarters for further action.
- Adejobi also vowed that there is no room for indecency, complacency and unethical conduct in the Nigeria Police Force
The president of the Adamawa State University Students’ Union Government was seen being escorted by armed police in a viral video, according to the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, which said on Wednesday that it had identified the personnel.
This comes after the Nigerian Police Force received criticism from Nigerians on X (previously Twitter) after a video of its armed officers transporting the recently elected president of the students’ union government at Adamawa State University appeared online.
Two armed policeman were seen walking alongside the unnamed student union leader’s automobile as he arrived at a convention, as other students cheered. The incident was taken on camera and uploaded on X by The Nation.
Reacting to the video, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police officers had been identified and ordered to report to the Force Headquarters for further actions.
Adejobi also vowed that there is no room for indecency, complacency and unethical conduct in the Nigeria Police Force.
He wrote, “These policemen have been identified. They are to report to the FHQ for further actions. There is no room for indecency, complacency, and unethical conduct.”
