Victor Boniface has been named Bundesliga Player of the Month for August.
Boniface beat Bayern Munich forward, Harry Kane, to the individual accolade.

The striker scored three goals in two league outings for Bayer Leverkusen in the month under review.
Boniface joined Die Werkself from Belgian Pro League club Union St Gilloise this summer.
He is expected to be in action when Xabi Alonso’s side take on defending champions Munich this weekend.

The Nigeria international has been one of the standout performers in the opening weeks of the campaign.
The 22-year-old has scored four goals in three league appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season.
Ahead of this weekend’s league encounter against holders Bayern Munich, Alonso eulogised the striker for his impressive displays for the club.
“He’s a great player, a special player. He’s a striker but he doesn’t just play for himself, he’s generous. We are really happy to have him here,” he told a press conference.
He is only the second player ever to win both awards in the same month.
Former Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland was the first to achieve the feat in January 2020.
