Governor Yusuf Suspends Kano MD Over Illegal Sale Of Grain

The Managing Director is suspended for alleged involvement in an inappropriate sale of grains belonging to the Kano State Government

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has immediately suspended Dr. Tukur Dayyabu Minjibir, Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO).

Dr. Abdullahi Bichi, Secretary to the Kano State Government, blamed the development on alleged misconduct.

In a letter dated September 12, 2023, Bichi conveyed the Governor’s directive.

It said;

The Managing Director is suspended for alleged involvement in an inappropriate sale of grains belonging to the Kano State Government.

Dr. Dayyabu is directed to hand over the affairs of the company to the most senior officer immediately pending the outcome of further investigation, the statement said.

It was reported that the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) had recently dragged a former managing director of Agricultural Supply Company Ltd. (KASCO), Bala Mohammed, and four others to court over the alleged diversion of over N4 billion in grants into private accounts.

Gunmen attack Plateau church, kidnap pastor, three others

At least three persons have been kidnapped by rampaging Gunmen wreaking havoc in Nigeria’s middle belt state of Plateau.

Among those kidnapped is a clergyman; the incident happened in Maigemu District of Jos East Local Government Area of the State.

The gunmen reportedly stormed ECWA Church Nuku around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday and abducted the clergyman in front of his family.

Locals disclosed that the gunmen, who operated for close to 40 minutes unrestrained, also kidnapped three other people: Agwom Dauda, Usman Umaru, and a woman simply identified as Sarah.

A source from the community said the gunmen, who shot sporadically into the air to scare the people, including the vigilantes and hunters, from coming out for a rescue, left with their captors in a car. In contrast, others trailed behind on their motorcycles.
