- Former APC zonal women leaders lauded Senator Barau for not discriminating against women and appreciating their contributions
Barau Jibrin, Deputy Senate President, has stated that women have made numerous sacrifices for the success of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the years.
He made the remarks yesterday in Abuja during a courtesy visit by a forum of former zonal women leaders of the party.
Senator Barau praised the women leaders for their sacrifices and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi for their passion in promoting women to various strategic positions for the country’s socioeconomic development.
Hajiya Yahanasu Buba Ahmed, former North-West zonal women leader of the APC, led forum members from the country’s six geopolitical zones.
According to a statement issued by the Spokesperson for the Deputy Senate President, Ismail Mudashir, a former South-South zonal women leader of the ruling party, Mrs. Racheal Akpabio, stated during the visit that Senator Barau does not discriminate against women.
We are aware of the numerous progressive things you are doing in our party. The most important thing is that you don’t discriminate between women and men in whatever you do; you carry women along. We are grateful for this, she said.
