Dauda Biu, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), expressed his condolences to the families affected by a tragic accident on the Onitsha-Awka Expressway in Anambra State.
The accident involved a Mitsubishi L300 commercial bus (registration number XE 245 AWK) and a DAF Leyland Truck (registration number T-19094 LA) at Odumodu Junction by Nteje, occurring on a Friday morning.
Sadly, five individuals lost their lives in this unfortunate incident. Biu, through a statement by FRSC’s spokesperson Bisi Kazeem, urged caution among commercial vehicle operators, emphasizing the need to be attentive to their surroundings and adhere to speed limits on all roads.
This advisory aims to prevent accidents resulting from impatience and lack of focus while driving. Additionally, Biu commended FRSC operatives for their swift response, ensuring the prompt evacuation of the crash victims for medical care and clearing the roadblock to restore smooth traffic flow in the area.
