City boss, Pep Guardiola, confirmed the absence of the players on Friday during his pre-match press conference.
He said Guardiola said Jack Grealish, John Stones and Mateo Kovacic are unavailable for the Premier League clash.
“They are both injured for tomorrow. I don’t know for Red Star Belgrade [on Tuesday]. Step by step.
“The injury for Jack [Grealish] is muscular but he has an incredible knock for his knee and the damage is there.
“John [Stones] is better but still has issues.
“[Mateo Kovacic] has something also muscular. It’s not a big issue but also he is out for tomorrow,” Guardiola said.
