- Mr. Aliyu Ahmed is appointed as the new Federal Commissioner/CEO of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI)
- Mrs. Delu Yakubu is appointed as the first National Coordinator/CEO of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA)
Two new appointments have been approved by President Bola Tinubu.
According to a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu approved the appointment of Mr Aliyu Ahmed as the new Federal Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
He also approved Mrs. Delu Yakubu’s appointment as the first National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA).
According to the statement, the appointment is effective immediately.
Ahmed has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in sociology and previously worked as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) for the Nasarawa State Government.
He was also the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as the Commissioner of Education.
Yakubu, on the other hand, holds a master’s degree in agronomy from the State University of Bio-Technology in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and has over 15 years of experience in Social Investment Programme management.
In line with his determination to realize the Renewed Hope agenda, the President directed the new appointee to convey the highest level of efficiency, transparency, and qualitative service delivery at NSIPA.
On May 22, the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) (Establishment) Act of 2023 was signed into law.
Ngelale stated that the appointment was contingent on Senate confirmation.
