Osun: Gunmen shoot man dead in wife’s shop


One Dele Agboola has been murdered by some yet-to-be-identified persons in Ada, Osun State.

He was shot dead by the assailants on Thursday night at his wife’s shop located in Pako Area.

The three gunmen who killed the deceased were said to have posed as customers who wanted to purchase medicine at the shop of late Agboola’s wife.

A resident of Pako Area, Ada, identified simply as Temitayo, said the assailants were believed to be three in number and arrived when the deceased had even left the shop and went inside his residence.

“But a few minutes after he retired inside, Dele (Agboola) came out into the shop again to pick up his mobile phone charger. He was about to leave the shop again for his location behind the shop when three men approached him and asked if he was Dele Agboola, and he told them he was the person bearing the name” Punch quoted Temitope as saying.

She disclosed that once the assailants ascertained that he was the one they were looking for they shot him and fled the scene.

“Immediately he confirmed his identity, the men shot him. Those that attacked him were three in number. They fled the area and people ran in different directions to avoid being attacked. The incident happened around 8:40pm Thursday at Pako Area.

“Relations of the deceased prevented security operatives from taking away his remains for autopsy. He was buried Friday around 8:30 am,” Temitayo said.

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kehinde Adeleke, said the incident was reported to the command
