- Reno Omokri suggests that Peter Obi would have visited Mohbad’s family if it were before the presidential election
- Omokri criticizes Obi for not doing so now and questions his sincerity
Reno Omokri, a former presidential media aide, claims that if there was an upcoming election, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, would have visited the family of fast-rising artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Mohbad died last Tuesday after receiving injections for an ear infection and was buried on Wednesday in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Celebrities, fans, and other Nigerians have continued to react to his untimely death since the news broke.
In his response, Omokri stated that if the incident had occurred before the presidential election, Obi would have paid a visit to Mohbad’s family.
On Monday night, he stated this in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Sadly, the truth is that if this were before the election, Peter Obi would have visited Mohbad’s family by now. He would have posted about it. He may even have shed some crocodile tears, and perhaps donated some money.
But the election is over. And Mohbad is not from a certain part of Nigeria. He is not a member of the Labour Party or an Obidient. So, there is no need for Peter Obi to even pretend that he cares!, he said.
Reno Omokri has criticized Obi on social media.
Prior to the general election, the LP campaign team accused the former presidential aide of using the party’s candidate name on social media to stay relevant.
In a statement, the Obi campaign team, known as the Obi-Datti Movement, described Omokri as a frustrated man.
