According to the Federal Capital area Police Command, it has detained at least 124 people across the area for a variety of offences.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, stated in a conversation with Daily Post on Wednesday that the arrests, which were made within 48 hours, were a result of the suspects’ activities in various locations identified by the police as “black spots.”
The PPRO stressed that those found innocent would be released and stated that the suspects will be charged to court after investigations were finished.
She claimed that some of the suspects had been detained for drug possession.
She said, “The 124 suspects were arrested at different venues and at different intervals. They have been screened, and the ones found guilty of any crime would be charged to court accordingly while the innocent would be freed.
“Some of them are sometimes found in places marked as black spots by the police at odd hours, while some go about with illegal substances which law abiding citizens shouldn’t have or possess”.
