Following the recent tribunal rulings that resulted in the dismissal of some legislators in Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has called for calm, saying his administration would deal decisively with perpetrators of political violence and their sponsors in the state.

In a live broadcast on the state’s current political developments yesterday, the governor said citizens should continue to have faith in the three branches of government, adding that any grievances must be expressed within the legal framework.

He stated that his administration will not hesitate to deal with anyone who incites unnecessary tension or violence.

The governor said;

The recent developments in our polity have generated and continue to generate unnecessary tensions among our people. We are not unaware of activities by some who are busy conspiring to scuttle the relative peace we are enjoying. We must not allow them.

Consequently, security agencies are investigating various leads to track down the sponsors of crime and to promptly deal with any criminal tendencies. Let us maintain our focus on the path of unity, peace and development.
