The Yobe State Government has requested that cooperation with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund be maintained.
When representatives of the TETFund paid him a courtesy call in his office on Thursday in Damaturu, Governor Mai Mala Buni made the demand.
The Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, acted as the Governor’s representative.
A statement issued by the Press Secretary to the SSG, Shuaibu Abdullahi indicated that the Governor commended TETFund for assisting state-owned tertiary institutions through the provision of facilities and the training of manpower.
Buni said the intervention projects from the Fund had been of invaluable assistance in the quest to enhance the standard of learning in the State’s institutions.
According to him, the State Government had been doing its best in providing the needed facilities and granting scholarships, adding that “the complementary role of TETFund in that direction, is commendable”.

In his remarks, leader of the TETFund team, Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Gamawa said they were in the State on an assessment tour of the State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Gujba.
He stated that there were operational guidelines covering the activities of the Fund, with stipulated requirements to be met for institutions to qualify for TETFund intervention.
