- Napoli striker Victor Osimhen isn’t concerned about his recent goal drought and is prepared to contribute to the team in other ways
- Osimhen expressed his satisfaction with being named Player of the Match in Napoli’s recent win over Braga in the Champions League
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he is ‘not bothered’ about his goal drought this season.
The Nigeria international failed to score for the third time in three games during Napoli’s 2-1 Champions League win over SC Braga on Wednesday, but he believes he will rediscover his scoring touch soon.
Last season, the 24-year-old scored 31 goals across all competitions to lead Napoli to their first Serie A title.
It’s strange to end a game without scoring,”Osimhen told UEFA.
Osimhen who is one of the nominees for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award was also thrilled to be named the Player of the Match in his side’s win over Braga.
It’s good to win this award but it’s even better and more important to get the three points against Braga in a game that was far from easy.”
We knew that Braga were difficult, especially at home, and the difficulties they created for us didn’t surprise me. But we had many chances and we deserved the victory.
Osimhen, who has only three goals in five appearances this season, will be eager to score when Napoli host Bologna in a Serie A match on Sunday at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
