Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, Minister of State for Environment and Ecological Management; Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Ogun State Deputy Governor; and Senator Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West, have stormed the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Adeola, also known as Yayi, arrived at the court at 7.55 a.m., followed by Salako.
They were accompanied by other Dapo Abiodun administration officials, including commissioner designates and the deputy chief of staff.
Hon. Tunji Akinosi, a member of the House of Representatives, has also arrived at the tribunal.
The Hamidu Kunaza-led tribunal will rule on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, challenging Dapo Abiodun’s victory in the March 18 election.
Our correspondent reports that scores of security operatives took over the court as early as 6am.
All roads to the Isabo court have been barricaded to prevent both human and vehicular movement, as two armoured personnel carriers were mounted in front of the court.
The security operatives also prevented some journalists from gaining access into the court premises.
