The election that selected PDP candidate Awoyeye Jeremiah for the Ife Central State Constituency has been declared invalid.
The National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which met in Osogbo on Saturday, declared the election invalid.
The tribunal also ordered a rerun in 26 polling units of the Ife-central State constituency in its unanimous decision, which was read by Justice V. O. Eboreime, who presided over the three-person panel and was also joined by Justices Habibu Mika’ilu and Clara Kataps.
The tribunal concluded that Awoyeye Jeremiah’s victory was incorrectly declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
