The Adamawa state government has given the green light for the resumption and completion of previously neglected electrification projects across seven communities in Gombi Local Government Area.

Neido Geofrey-Kufolto, the Information Commissioner, made this announcement in Yola, mentioning that the project had originally been contracted at a cost of N44 million back in 2007.

“The contract for the project, which was awarded under the State Ministry of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, would cover Fahar, Bewa, Kaulewa and Gayaku communities.

“The state government reviewed the contract sum from the initial N44 million to N192.67 million with a completion period of twelve months,” she said.

Ms Geofrey-Kufolto said the projects were abandoned due to the high cost of electrification materials, as the amount earmarked for the project cannot be matched.
