On Wednesday, Osun Amotekun Corps agents in the Iwo Area Command seized four men—Isaac Oluwafemi, 23, Adeolu Ayuba, 19, Afeez Ismail, 23, and Sola Azeez, 19—all of whom were natives of the Iwo Local Government.
They were detained on suspicion of theft, burglary, and vandalism against government buildings.
The suspects allegedly committed the act in the former Ola-Oluwa local government secretariat, which is located in Telemu, Osun State, according to the Osun Amotekun Corps.
After stealing and vandalising wheelchairs, iron tables, and aluminium sheets, the culprits were apprehended.
The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander in Osun, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, confirming the arrest, revealed that luck ran out on them after the operatives of Amotekun received distress calls from residents of the area.
Adewinmbi said the operatives swung into action immediately and arrested the culprits while escaping the scene with the stolen items.
“Upon the investigation, the suspects confessed to perpetrating the act.
“The suspects have been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution,” Adewinmbi stated.
