Senator Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor of Kogi State on November 11, 2023, has formally launched a platform for all the employees of Kogi State who were wrongfully let go by the departing administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
He continued by saying that promotions without cash back and giving percentage salary will be a thing of the past in the state.
Melaye vowed to review the cases of all individuals who were hastily fired from their jobs and unfairly placed on the job market. He made this announcement during his Thursday interaction with the Council of Ulama in Lokoja local government.
A statement by the director-general of Dino/Habiba Campaign Council, Prince Inuwa Iyodo, quoted Melaye as saying that the existential challenges in the state became heightened when the means of livelihood of many Kogites were lost, half salaries became the order of the months and the economy of the state, which was built around the civil service earnings, was paralysed.
He assured the members of the Council of Ulama and the people of Kogi State that all the cases inputted to the platform would be reviewed and “there shall be justice.”
“The moment we are elected into office and sworn-in, insha Allah, percentages salaries will become history, promotion without cash-backing will end and every worker in this state will get their dues as and when due,” he further assured
