He stressed the importance of continuity and consolidation of the party’s achievements.
Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, conveyed this message during the official commencement of the APC’s governorship campaign in Lokoja, the state capital. He called on voters to show up in large numbers on Election Day and exercise their democratic rights.
In his address, Tinubu stated, “For the sake of continuity and the advancement of our great state, it has become imperative for the people of Kogi State to align themselves with the center. I implore you to turn out in massive numbers and vote for Usman Ahmed Ododo.”
Shettima emphasized President Tinubu’s unwavering courage and conviction, highlighting the potential for transformative ideas that could uplift the state. He also pointed out the significance of the appointment of the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, from Kogi State, in the context of completing the Ajaokuta Iron and Steel Company—a project currently at 98 percent completion, promising 500,000 job opportunities.
Shettima further assured the audience of the federal government’s commitment to completing critical infrastructure projects, including the Abuja-Lokoja-Okene highway, the Kabba-Ilorin road, and the dredging of the River Niger.
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, emphasized that due to Governor Yahaya Bello’s effective governance, Kogi State should remain aligned with the party in power at the federal level.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, Chairman of the APC Campaign Council for Kogi State, encouraged citizens to ensure their voter cards are in order and to participate enthusiastically in the election. He underscored that voting for the APC candidate would translate to more progress in terms of human and infrastructural development in the state.
Governor Bello expressed his gratitude to the people of Kogi State for their continuous support and urged them to vote for the APC to ensure continuity of the state’s development.
In his appeal, the APC candidate, Usman Ahmed Ododo, promised to unite the people of Kogi State and usher in meaningful development if elected, alongside his running mate. He called on the electorate to rally behind his candidacy for a brighter future.
