- Calls for consolidation, continuity, and full participation in the upcoming governorship election
Vice President Kashim Shettima urged the electorate in Imo State to vote for Governor Hope Uzodinma for a second term. He stated that Uzodinma is trying to bring Ndigbo (the Igbo people) into mainstream Nigerian politics.
Shettima made this statement during the flag-off campaign rally for the November 11 governorship election at Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Imo State.
He emphasized the importance of Ndigbo participating fully in Nigerian politics and not remaining on the periphery. Shettima expressed his belief that, with time, the significance of Uzodinma’s role in Igbo politics would become clear.
Shettima also mentioned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds the people of Imo State and Ndigbo in high regard. He encouraged Imo’s electorate to re-elect Uzodinma for consolidation and continuity.
Shettima referred to the people of Imo as being full of hope, resilience, and determination. He reminded them they should not be complacent and urged them to come out in full force to re-elect their governor for another four-year term on the 11th of the next month.
During the rally, the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, presented the party’s flag to Governor Uzodimma. The event was attended by 16 governors who are members of the APC, former governors, ministers, and national and state assembly members, among others.
