Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) are currently corresponding with members of the Ondo State House of Assembly regarding a motion to impeach the state’s deputy governor, Lucky Ayiedatiwa.
The state party chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, and the nine other members of Aminu Bello Masari’s reconciliation committee are also present.
In an effort to end the crisis, the Ganduje-led NWC recently formed the reconciliation committee.
The party leadership had earlier expressed its reservations against plans by the lawmakers to impeach Ayiedatiwa.
The deputy governor was accused of disrespecting the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, while the state chief executive was on a medical vacation abroad.
The lawmakers also accused him of abusing his office, an allegation he has since denied.
The party leaders are expected to brief the APC press corps after the closed-door meeting.
