The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed satisfaction with the performance of Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, during his first term and believes it will pave the way for his success in the upcoming governorship election on November 11.

Chief Dan Orbih, the National Vice Chairman (South-South) of PDP, made this statement during a solidarity visit to the Government House in Yenagoa, leading the zonal working committee members of the party.

Orbih commended Governor Diri for his accomplishments and noted that the unique aspect of his campaign for re-election was the inauguration and commissioning of various projects. He mentioned that while some first-term governors campaign for a second term by making promises, Diri’s campaign focused on the tangible results he had achieved and the initiation of new projects.

The PDP delegation also praised Diri as a “miracle governor” and expressed confidence in his chances of success in the election, suggesting that he may not even face a strong opponent with the support of the people and his track record of achievements.

LP Threatens Fresh Legal Action Against Factional Chairman, Apapa

The Lamidi Apapa supporters’ claims of impropriety against the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have been condemned by the Julius Abure-led Labour Party and the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign. The claims were attributed to Abayomi Arabambi, who spoke on their behalf.

At a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the Labour Party National Legal Adviser and the Chief Spokesperson for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation both stated that legal action is being explored against Arabambi and the other defendants, whom they both referred to as “impostors.”

Tanko said, “I have called you this afternoon to bring to your notice some unbecoming and vexatious attitude in the public space that is dragging some media houses along.

“Some political hirelings, buccaneers indulging in menial work of character assassination, have lately been let loose dubiously ostensibly to soil the name of our Presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
