Supplies Running Out In Gaza — UN Agency

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned that supplies in the Gaza Strip are running low

On Tuesday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned that supplies in the Gaza Strip are running low.

“This is why it’s critical to get supplies into Gaza right now,” said Juliette Touma, UNRWA’s Director of Communications.

She said that UNRWA has been unable to transport supplies into Gaza for the past ten days.

“The clock is ticking,” said Touma. Hamas ruled this following the unprecedented Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, and the response to Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been relocated south of Gaza from the densely populated, sealed-off coastal enclave.

Following the attacks 10 days ago, fuel, food, electricity, and water supplies to Gaza were cut off, and humanitarian relief deliveries were not allowed in.

Biden to visit Israel on Wednesday, says Blinken

Following the Hamas strikes, US President Joe Biden will pay a solidarity visit to Israel on Wednesday, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who also revealed that Israel has agreed to cooperate on civilian supplies for Gaza.

Blinken said following a nearly eight-hour discussion with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the defence ministry, on the top US diplomat’s second visit since the October 7 Hamas attacks.”The president will reaffirm the United States’ solidarity with Israel and our ironclad commitment to its security,” Blinken said in Tel Aviv early Tuesday.

“Israel has the right and indeed the duty to defend its people from Hamas and other terrorists and to prevent future attacks,” Blinken said.

Biden, on the other hand, “will hear from Israel what it needs to defend his people as we continue to work with Congress to meet those needs,” the vice president added.
