- Osimhen sustained a thigh injury on international duty last weekend
- Napoli announced this week that Osimhen will be sidelined for a number of weeks following the setback
Renowned orthopedic doctor, Matteo Vitali has revealed that Victor Osimhen h will be sidelined for around a month.
Osimhen sustained a thigh injury on international duty last weekend.
The 24-year-old picked up the injury in the second half of Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia.
The striker was replaced by OGC star, Terem Moffi.
Napoli announced this week that Osimhen will be sidelined for a number of weeks following the setback.
“Usually the protocol is quite standard, a minimum of twenty days of rest is needed with therapies aimed at mitigating the tissue lesion, then the injury must be evaluated during the course,” Vitaly told Tutto Napoli.
“After the 20-day period of therapy and rest, it will finally be possible to return to the field to train separately and then with the group.
“With the return to training, more or less another ten days pass until we see him again in an official match,” he said.
It’s the second time Osimhen has sustained an injury while on international duty.
He dislocated his shoulder in 2020 during a clash with Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
