The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bwnjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the arrest of one Benjamin Nnanyereugo for allegedly killing his girlfriend by the Sierra Leonan Police Force.

Hundeyin said Nnanyereugo’s arrest had been confirmed by the Nigeria Police.

“He was arrested by the Sierra Leonan Police Force and we are working on extraditing him to Nigeria.

On October 11, the Lagos State Police Command declared one Benjamin Nnanyereugo wanted for the death of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion.

The police, in a statement on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said Nnanyereugo was suspected to have murdered the 21-year-old lady on July 13, 2023, in his home at Oral Estate in the Ajah area of the state.

The statement read in part, “Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted.

The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently.

“If seen, please contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727.”

In another story, the Borno State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim, the husband of murdered daughter of a Borno House of Assembly member representing Ngala Local Government Area.

Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim, 31-year-old, was arrested for allegedly killing his 25-year-old wife, Fatima Alhaji Bukar.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Sani Kamilu Muhammed disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, noting that the deceased’s husband was arrested alongside 39-year-old Bukar Wadiya of Dikechiri.
