Sochima David Chukwudi, a student at Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new record on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Chukwudi scored an impressive 1590 out of a possible 1600 points on this standardized test.

The SAT is commonly taken by high school juniors and seniors who are applying to colleges and institutions. It is offered internationally six times a year. Chukwudi’s exceptional achievement surpasses the previous highest score of 1510 out of 1600, held by a Nigerian student.

This remarkable success establishes Chukwudi, an NTIC student, as the highest scorer in this extremely competitive and challenging test.

In response to his achievement, Chukwudi, a scholarship student from the Annual National Mathematics Competition (ANMC) organized by NTIC, credited his success to a combination of factors. He said, “Two major factors played out in this outstanding score. Firstly, it was the grace of GOD that saw me through, and secondly, it was intensive reading, determination, and hard work. It took me months of reading, studying, preparing, and practising for this exam. I also used a lot of website materials to practice and understand what the SAT is all about. I can also say for sure that I had a lot of sleepless nights, and I am grateful to GOD that those nights paid off.”

He emphasized the importance of focus, stating, “The most important thing in passing this exam (SAT) is focus. I believe that anyone writing the SAT should have in mind that this outstanding score does not come so easily because it will require your time, focus, determination, setting of goals, resilience, energy, patience, practice, and prayers.”

Chukwudi expressed his gratitude to NTIC teachers for their support, saying, “I am actually extremely grateful to my NTIC teachers for putting the pieces of me together, especially in my academics. In short, NTIC is wow. They are and will remain the best. I really appreciate their effort because my story can’t be complete without them.”

Fevzullah Bilgin, the Managing Director of NTIC, lauded Chukwudi’s remarkable achievement, describing it as a monumental accomplishment for the institution. He noted that a score of 1590 on the SAT not only distinguishes NTIC within Nigeria but also positions it on the global academic stage. Bilgin emphasized that this achievement is a testament to the quality of education provided at NTIC and the exceptional talents nurtured there.

Chukwudi’s success reflects his unwavering dedication, hard work, and determination throughout his academic journey. Bilgin also recognized the pivotal role played by NTIC’s exceptional educators in shaping bright minds like Chukwudi, highlighting the invaluable contributions of the school’s teachers to its mission of academic excellence.
