Governor Nwifuru disburses N310m to 31 communities in Ebonyi

During the distribution of the cheques to the communities, Governor Nwifuru urged them to utilize the funds prudently for the betterment of their communities and the overall benefit of Ebonyi State

On Thursday, the Ebonyi State Governor allocated N10 million to each of 31 communities in the state to support them in undertaking projects of their preference through the Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency, a World Bank-assisted intervention.

During the distribution of the cheques to the communities, Governor Nwifuru urged them to utilize the funds prudently for the betterment of their communities and the overall benefit of Ebonyi State.

Leo Ekene Oketa, the Special Assistant to the governor on New Media, noted that community development is a well-known World Bank-assisted project.

He explained that the communities that benefited from the projects are those who show readiness for the growth and development of their people.

Recall that the Governor last week also empowered 500 Ebonyi people with N2m each for them to convert their skills and talents into profitability through viable businesses.
