Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has asked the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to rebuild the Yobe State College of Agriculture in Gujba and the state Polytechnic in Geidam, both destroyed by Boko Haram fighters.

Buni, represented by his Deputy Idi Barde Gubana, made this call during a courtesy visit to Government House Damaturu by the chairman and members of the commission’s newly formed Governing Council.

He described Boko Haram’s activities at the College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology Gujba as the worst humanitarian crisis in recent memory, with over 100 students slaughtered and buildings and utility vehicles destroyed.

Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of the Governing Board Major Gen Paul Tarfa (rtd) stated that they were in the state for a familiarization tour to assess completed and ongoing projects and to hear the people’s demands.
