- Laments over court’s ignore of fresh evidence
- Says judgement is Nigeria’s loss
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar claims that there is no hope for Nigeria.
Atiku stated this on Monday during an international press conference in Abuja while reacting to the verdict of the Supreme Court which upheld the election of President Bola Tinubu.
The former Vice President said history would subsequently vindicate his moves to truncate Tinubu’s victory.
“If the Supreme Court, which is the highest court in Nigeria, can ignore the cry of Nigerians despite evidences, then Nigeria has lost it and the country is doomed.
“I am absolutely sure that history will vindicate me. The bigger lost is not mine but Nigerians,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Amb Umar Illiya Damagun, has said the party was disappointed with the judgment of the Supreme Court with respect to its Presidential petition but it would not be deterred.
He said this in his address in the ongoing press conference at the party’s National Secretariat, in Abuja, on Monday.
Damagun said, “We may be disappointed but we are not deterred because we know what is on the ground, we know what happened.
“Everyone is so sad in this country. There was a verdict but everywhere is calm no celebration. Mine is to welcome all of us and the leader of our party.
