The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has refuted reports claiming that it has merged its gubernatorial structure with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in preparation for the November 11 elections in Kogi State. The SDP categorically stated that these reports are unfounded and intended to sow discord within the party.
It was previously reported that Murtala Ajaka, the SDP’s gubernatorial candidate, had withdrawn from the race in favor of Leke Abejide from the ADC. However, the Director-General of the New Media MuriSam Campaign Council, Isaiah Davies Ijele, who purportedly signed the statement, stated that the alleged statement is untrue and without foundation. He stressed that Murtala Yakubu Ajaka remains the people’s candidate and will not step down for anyone at this stage of the election.
