Umar Yusuf Yabo, a federal lawmaker representing the Yabo-Shagari federal constituency in Sokoto State, made significant donations to various groups within the community.

Elected under the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general elections, he contributed 200 motorcycles to security agencies and constituents. Additionally, he allocated N100 million to empower 2000 women across the two local government areas.

Yusuf also distributed 50 water pumps and 50 2.5KVA power generators to support farmers and mosques in the designated areas. Moreover, he provided 500 uniforms and 5,000 exercise books to primary school pupils.

Addressing the beneficiaries during the presentation in Yabo town on Monday, Yusuf highlighted that these actions aligned with the commitments made to his constituents during his campaign.

“During my campaigns, I promised our people a positive change because Yabo-Shagari had been under-represented at the green chamber for so many years.

“So what we are witnessing today is just the beginning of so many good things that are on the way,” he said

According to him, each of the 2000 women would receive N50,000; and another set of 50 women would get a deep freezer each.

“I also made a case for our electricity supply at the plenary, this is because Yabo-Shagari have not been getting light for about two years now.

“I promise you that, our light will be restored very soon,” he assured.
