Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has ordered the suspension of Chief Judge Justice Oyebola Ojo, in defiance of a National Industrial Court judgement prohibiting her from dismissing or otherwise meddling in the judiciary.
The Governor endorsed the House of Assembly’s motion requesting that the Chief Judge resign due to allegations of wrongdoing, according to a statement released on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
“The Executive Governor of Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the resolution of the Osun State House of Assembly asking the Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo to step aside pending investigation of allegations of misconduct, abuse of power, corruption and disregard for rule of law against her by the House of Assembly”, it reads partly.
