- The panel ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Muftwang and issue a fresh one to Goshwe.
- Tribunal was hard on the appellant when it likened the appellant to one crying more than the bereaved.
Caleb Mutfwang’s election as the governor of Plateau State was declared void by the Appeal Court on Sunday in Abuja.
The Independent National Electoral Commission was ordered by the Appellate court, presided over by Justice Okong Abang, to revoke Mutfwang’s Certificate of Return and transfer it to Nentawe Yiltwatda, the All Progress Congress governorship candidate, thereby nullifying the PDP candidate’s election.
Nentawe’s appeal contesting Governor Mutwang’s declaration as the legitimately elected governor of Plateau state was previously denied by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, which was convening in Jos.
However, the Appeal Court on Sunday ruled that “The Tribunal was in error when it said the appellants lacked the right to contest the conduct of the election.
“Tribunal was hard on the appellant when it likened the appellant to one crying more than the bereaved.
“If the appellant finds his neighbor with a goat that doesn’t belong to him, there is nothing wrong if he complains or raises the alarm”
