Unidentified gunmen are said to have abducted a government official in Lagos State who has not yet been named.
According to information obtained, the event happened on Monday at the victim’s home at the Progressive Estate in Igbe-Oloja, Ikorodu. The victim is also known by his nickname, Jagaban.
Reports state that the victim is a top employee of Government House, Alausa’s Revenue Department.
It was said that the victim’s wife had been contacted by the kidnappers, who demanded N20 million in exchange for the victim’s release.
A team of policemen and other security agencies were said to be hovering in and around the area searching for clues that could lead to his rescue.
The Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the ugly development to Vanguard, but failed to provide details of the incident.
“All I can tell you is that we received such a report but I cannot tell who he is. All I know is that our men are there and doing everything possible to rescue the man and apprehend the hoodlums that kidnapped him”, he said.
