Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf is proceeding to the Supreme Court to challenge the decision made by the Appeal Court to remove him from office.
Remember that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, was declared the winner of the state’s gubernatorial election by the Appeal Court, which also dismissed Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for being ineligible to run.
The decision by the Appeal Court that dismissed Yusuf has caused confusion.
Concerned attorneys have been requested by the court to provide certified true copies of its ruling for revisions.
The Appeal Court had ruled that Yusuf was not a member of the NNPP during the election.
However, the certified true copies of the judgement triggered confusion as it indicated that the court upheld Yusuf’s victory.
