Early on Wednesday morning, gunmen who have not yet been identified stormed the Adamawa State Police Headquarters, which is situated in the centre of the Jimeta community in the Yola North local government area.

A local, who begged to remain anonymous, claimed that for at least half an hour, there were gunfire noises all around.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the attack while assuring that everything was under control.
