- Osun APC warns Adeleke of setting a dangerous precedent by missing his first administration anniversary, marking the first such absence in state history.
- The Osun APC, led by Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, announced that Governor Adeleke has been on vacation in the United States for the past two weeks
- Governor Adeleke has started a working vacation to Europe and Asia, aiming to finalize partnership deals with investors and development partners, according to Olawale Rasheed’s statement
.
Governor Ademola Adeleke allegedly fled the state to avoid providing a stewardship report for his one-year anniversary, according to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Remember that three weeks ago, Adeleke reportedly underwent knee surgery? This was the reason behind his international travels.
But over the weekend, Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokeswoman, revealed that the governor went on vacation because it was the first one he had taken since taking office.
Meanwhile, APC through its chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement on Sunday, November 26, berated Adeleke’s one-year administration, saying, “We know very well that Governor Adeleke has absconded from the state so he would not be able to give due account of his stewardship to the people of the state.
He added: “Since November 2022 when he came on board, Governor Adeleke has run the state aground with his sheer incompetence, lack of proper education and his zero administrative acumen. He is afraid to disclose to the Osun people how he has mismanaged over N130 billion revenue accrued to his government in the last one year.
“Adeleke is afraid to tell them how he has allocated in the supplementary budget over N10billion for his food, entertainment and office use while the parents of UNIOSUN students are struggling to pay increased school fees his regime forced on them to pay. The Osun people deserve to know the whereabouts of their state executive.
“Governor Adeleke is ashamed to face the Osun people that one year after, his promise of making Osun another Dubai is a fluke told by a scoundrel and conman. Adeleke is distraught to face Osun people because he has failed to provide palliative for them in the face of economic hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy and the N9 billion he collected from the Federal Government, his demonic government has looted it.”
In his reaction, Rasheed said the opposition is still living in pain of the 2022 governorship and 2023 general elections.
He said: “When I assumed office, we had benchmarks and deliverables according to each sector. Our team sets milestones to achieve in health, education, infrastructures, ICT, agriculture, youth, and women among others. I looked back and I can tell you we performed beyond our plans.
“The opposition APC is still nursing the wound of their electoral defeat. So the party is ashamed to see the positive changes we are recording in the state. Our achievements are there for all to see.
“In the road sector, we reconstructed a total of 90 kilometres of roads with another 45 kilometres ongoing. We completely rehabilitated 31 schools with another 31 in the pipeline. We built 332 water projects while major water works at Iwo, Ede, Osogbo, and Eko Ende are under rehabilitation.”
