Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, has been honoured with the 2023 NITMA-Digital Governor of the Year Award by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS). Governor Sani secured the accolade through online voting by Nigerians and was officially presented with the award at a ceremony held in Lagos state.
The NCS commended the Kaduna State Government, under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, for its steadfast commitment and initiatives in enhancing the application of technology in state administration, particularly in areas such as agriculture, revenue collection, health, and education. These technological interventions have positioned Kaduna State as a centre for innovation and technological advancement.
Expressing gratitude to the Nigeria Computer Society for their impactful work nationwide, Governor Sani remarked, “This award is not only an acknowledgement of our accomplishments, but I believe that this will serve as an inspiration for others to follow our proactive steps in advancing Nigeria’s digital landscape.”
The annual NCS-National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA) aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals, state governments, and institutions for their remarkable contributions to the progress of information technology in Nigeria and beyond.
The Kaduna State Government continues to prioritize the development of robust technological infrastructure to ensure equal access to digital services and connectivity for all citizens. In a recent initiative, the Kaduna State Government collaborated with Google to provide training for 5,000 women and girls in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and the entrepreneurial application of digital technologies.
